Only 21 months late!!! (Can't believe I never posted this!)

Dearest Mayson Pearl,
Yesterday you were officially one month old!!
It's amazing to me how much you've grown and changed already. According to the bathroom scale you are now 7 lbs, but we'll find out your growth stats for sure on Monday at your one month appointment.
You are finally getting the hang of this eating thing and have always seemed to like helping mom and dad by "holding" your bottle. You've went from only eating 6ml a feeding to being able to down 1 1/2 to 2 ounces a feeding. We've tried nursing but it just seems to make you mad so I guess you just aren't a boob baby, lol... you'd rather make mommy have to pump constantly since you eat every two to three hours with the occasional four hour break!
You wear newborn sized diapers and are finally fitting into all your cute newborn sized outfits! They are still a bit big on you but you are too big for most of your premie outfits now.
You are NOT a fan of tummy time. It either makes you mad or puts you to sleep but you can lift your head for a few seconds and turn your head from side to side; though you would much rather be spending your time lifting your legs and arms so that it looks like you are trying to do the superman!
You love going for stroller rides,
have HATED your bath since day one,
but love having your hair washed!
Plus you've already found your thumb but usually only resort to using it when you're hungry.
The cats could really care less about you but Atlas thinks you are HIS baby. He sleeps by your pack and play, checks on you every time you cry and looks for you around the house and whimpers by the door if you are gone.
Personally, your daddy and I have to side with Atlas because we think you are pretty amazing too! What really amazes us is that technically you aren't even supposed to be here yet... but now we couldn't imagine what the past month would have been like without you.
Because you came early we have been blessed with the miracle of being able to share six more weeks of our lives with you!
I'm still in awe that month one has already come and gone. I will forever cherish the time that I have got to spend being your mommy and I look forward to the many more months to come!

Military Appreciation Night at the Zoo

Friday evening was military appreciation night at the zoo. Gaga's in town so she got to tag along.

Mayson decided she HAD to push her stroller around instead of riding in it. When you have a very opinionated toddler you pick you battles and this was not one I was willing to fight. Plus as an added bonus all of the extra walking should wear her out, right?!

Checking out the "big kitty."

She wasn't a huge fan of the anteater.

She would squat down like this at almost all of the animals and lean in closer like she was trying to get a better look. She also had to wave and say "bye" to all of the animals as we left each enclosure.

Mayson, Gaga and a flock of very stinky flamingos.

Mayson's favorite was the tigers. She kept "roaring" at them!

Brushing the goats.

And the hit of the night wasn't even an animal- it was the splash park. As soon as we walked by it she started saying, "Pool. Play, pool!"
Bonus mommy points for me! At the last minute I decided to pack her swim stuff just in case she wanted to play.

Shameless Father's Day Brag!

In conversations with other moms, I am usually left feeling like I am shamelessly bragging about the hubby's daddy skills... But I'm not going to lie to them... He really does rock, lol!!

He is the lone king of the princess castle
The nightly bath giver.
Frequent diaper changer.
Official backyard explorer.
Sharer of chocolate chip cookies.
Reader of the same story for the 100th time.
Boo-boo kisser.
And ice cream date maker.

When it comes to Mayson there really isn't a job that he won't do.
And just for added bonus points this wonderful man even makes sure I get at least one morning a week to sleep in!!!

In a nutshell the following truly explains how selfless and giving he really is....
Regardless of whether he needs to be up early or not, Greg always gets up at exactly 5:55 am Monday through Friday. While I wrap up getting ready for work he wakes Maysie up, gets her dressed and into the car so her and I can leave for KinderCare.
Did I nag him into doing this?
Am I just so completely unorganized that I can't manage without him?
Nope, neither.
He helps because he wants to. And there really isn't anything more amazing than that.

I know I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it a thousand times more; Mayson Pearl and I are truly blessed to have him. Happy Father's Day Gregory!
Rock on and I'll gladly brag on!

Father's Day started with breakfast at Cracker Barrel.

Then we had some backyard water play fun!

And to wrap up our day he put his Father's Day present to good use by grilling out some burgers.

Mayson wasn't sure she liked daddy's new grill. She didn't like the smoke!

This pretty much sums up how she feels about her daddy!! He always brings a smile to her face :)

Sea World

Figured I'd do a little back tracking and finally post some pictures from our Sea World trip that we took well over a month ago. Mayson did amazing on the trip and loved every minute of it... every minute other than feeding the stingrays that is!!! Plus Aunt Jess was in town so it was nice to get to create some fun memories with her.

This next picture is so hilarious to me. It was taken right after Gregory pointed out that the pair of beluga whales were trying to get "frisky!" Poor Mayson was traumatized, lol!

And of course our little dare devil loved the rides!

She HATED feeding the stingrays!! She clung to me for dear life and kept saying "No, no, no!"
